Pneumatic conveyance
The filter material is blown out of the silo truck with 1.6 - 2 bar. Horizontal distances should be kept short in order to avoid a segregation of air and material. If arches are used, a radius of 1.0 m should be observed. Pneumatic conveyance increases the share of undersized grain to up to 6 percent. In order to counteract the development of dust during direct conveyance into the filter, hydraulic conveyance is recommendable. HYDRO-ANTHRASIT and HYDRO-FILT cannot be conveyed pneumatically.

Hydraulic conveyance
For non-stationary units we offer a mobile water-jet elevator.

Technical specifications: Maximum grain size: < 8 mm
Maximum conveyor height: 10 - 15 m
Output: approx. 6 - 7 t/h
Water throughput: 10 - 20 m³/h
Operating pressure: 4 - 10 bar
Connector width: C- or B-coupling

The use of B-couplings requires a water pressure of 6 - 10 bar. If necessary, a booster pump has to be used.

If the filters are filled directly from the silo truck, it is possible to add water to the conveyor flow via an intermediate piece in order to guarantee gentle and dust-free filling.

Hydraulic conveyance is especially suitable to fill filters with multi-layer filter materials (Akdolit® HYDRO-ANTHRASIT and Akdolit® HYDRO-FILT). Before the first backflush a certain moistening time is required. If Akdolit® MAGNO-DOL, Akdolit® GRAN and Akdolit® HYDROLIT-MG are filled in hydraulically, the filter has to be backflushed thoroughly after filling. After finishing, the filter has to be operated under normal operating conditions so that the hydratisation process in the filter material can take place and a significant, lasting over-alkalinisation is avoided if possible.
