Neutralisation products can be used as chemically reacting filter material in open and closed fixed bed filters. They are the recommended remedy for hardening soft waters or softening hard water (water with high levels of dissolved minerals, particularly calcium). Moreover, they can be dosed using pumps (milk of lime Akdolit® SL) or added as powders (Quicklime Akdolit® Q and Hydrated lime Akdolit® H).
The main objectives of these reagents are to :
- Neutralise and filter soft or hard water in combination with de-ironing and de manganisation (as well as other metals removal)
- Neutralise and filter cold, warm or hot circulation water (decarbonation and softening of hard water hardening of soft water)
- Neutralise and filter bathing water
- Increase the hardness of distillate and permeate so that they can be used as drinking water
The products grant a secure, low-maintenance and economic operation due to their high reactivity to soft or hard water and their chemical and micro-biological degree of purity. With Akdolit® products, the regulatory standards for drinking water can be safely met.
