Silos
Storage in stationary silos only makes sense if regular re-filling is required. This is usually the case for Akdolit® MAGNO-DOL, Akdolit® GRAN, Akdolit® HYDRO-CALCIT and Akdolit® HYDRO-KARBONAT. The silo can be made from steel, reinforced concrete or synthetic material. Dampness, chemicals or contaminants, no matter of which kind, have to be prevented from entering. The holding capacity of the silos should not be less than 25 to 30 t. The silo has to be equipped with suitable exit air dedusters and bulk good slide valves.
When erecting the silo, distances for filling as well as for removal should be taken into account. Besides, the material should not directly hit the container wall or installed equipment while filling.
From the silo the material is conveyed into the water filters with the help of a water-jet elevator. For this reason, sufficient space below the silo has to be left clear. The hose line has a diameter of 2 to 3 inches. Again, the material should not directly hit the container wall or installed equipment of the water filter. |
