Akdolit® HYDRO-SORB is a highly active granular coal made from coked coal. High abrasion resistance and high density permit rinsing at usual rinsing water velocities without any significant loss of material or change in optimal water properties.
The porous structure of Akdolit® HYDRO-SORB is specially adapted to the adsorption of different compounds contained in the water so that water properties reach and remain at optimal levels.
Akdolit® HYDRO-SORB is mainly suitable for the treatment of drinking and bathing water, especially for :
- the adsorption of odours, flavours and colourings
- the reduction of organic substances
- de-chlorination and de-ozonisation
The presence of certain contaminants before application of the Akdolit® HYDRO-SORB treatment, such as a low content of iron and manganese, is obligatory.
Water with a low content of substances causing turbidity can be treated with Akdolit® HYDRO-SORB as the abrasion resistance of this active coal permits rinsing at usual water velocity conditions. However, it has to be taken into account that higher quantities of substances causing turbidity may impede the desired adsorption of organic substances contained in the water.
